Can sometimes be adulterated with other substances.

Possession:  
Up to 2 years imprisonment or a fine, but sometimes a caution if only a small amount.
 
Supply:
Up to 14 years imprisonment and/or
a fine.

 

EFFECTS/SIGNS OF USE

  • Intoxication
  • Loss of concentration
  • Red eyes
  • Dilated pupils
  • Increase in heart rate
  • Irrelevant giggling
  • Butts of hand-rolled cigarettes
  • Strong smell of burning leaves
  • Large cigarette papers
  • Grinder (used to shred leaves)
  • Unusual hunger

 

DANGERS/RISKS

  • Coordination and reaction time impaired
  • Dangerous to drive under influence
  • Anxiety & illusions
  • Possible psychological changes (psychosis)
  • Psychological dependence
  • Damage to lungs as with tobacco
  • Very demotivating
