Methadone

Most commonly as a liquid (usually green).
Injectable liquid.
Tablet.
Used in treatment for Heroin addiction, as a prescribed Heroin substitute, but some users sell it to buy more Heroin.

 

METHOD OF USE

Usually oral
Can also be supplied in the injectable form, though this is rare. The normally prescribed liquid is for drinking and is not injectable.

 

THE LAW

CLASS: A (If not prescribed to you.
It can be carried & used only by the person it is prescribed to).
 
Possession:
Up to 5 (7) years imprisonment and/or a fine.

Supply:
Up to life imprisonment and/or a fine.

 

EFFECTS/SIGNS OF USE

  • Drowsiness
  • Similar to Heroin but much less intense
  • Effects can last up to 24 hours

 

DANGERS/RISKS

Using other drugs whilst taking Methadone can be very risky. Alcohol can be particularly dangerous.
