Nitrous Oxide

A gas, usually supplied in small cylinders, or sparklet style bulbs. Used by doctors/dentists as an anaesthetic.

Breathed or inhaled, often using a balloon.

EFFECTS/SIGNS OF USE

  • Giggling
  • Euphoria, exhilaration
  • Sound distortion
  • Dream-like state
  • Hallucinations

 

DANGERS/RISKS

  • Nausea
  • Headaches
  • Reduced vitamin B12 levels with regular use
  • Numbness in extremities with heavy regular use
  • Can cause asphyxiation by depletion of oxygen in the body
